NCTC Client Stories

Use this page as a guide to collecting and submitting stories from your clients. Stories can be submitted electronically on this page using the NCTC Client Stories Submission Form.

Help us collect client stories!


Sometimes, the most powerful tool we have in our toolkit comes from the real-life stories of the people we serve. These stories can be shared with funders, elected officials, and the media in order to demonstrate VITA's successes.

  • This Client Stories Submission Form can be used to submit your stories!

  • There's one more important step: Please have the client sign (on paper or electronically) this Client Story Release Form, which gives NCTC permission to use the story for our advocacy and outreach work.

    The form may be submitted electronically at the end of the Client Stories Submission Form or via email to jthall@tax-coalition.org.

    Which stories should I collect?

  • All of them! Collect as many stories as you can from clients who are willing to share; every story can help strengthen our cause.

  • In particular, please help us collect stories involving:
    • Savings or asset building activities
    • Expanded financial education
    • Refunds being used to support education or childcare, medical costs, home improvement, or basic necessities
    • Stories featuring hard-to-reach populations, such as families living in rural communities, Native Americans, people with disabilities, or people of color
