Tell Your Senator to Vote for Tax Credit Extensions
The expansions of EITC and Child Tax Credit (CTC) included in the 2009 Recovery Act expire at the end of the year. The Senate must act before the end of the year to save these vital credits. Your Senators needs to hear from you.
On December 2nd, the House passed the Middle Class Tax Relief Act of 2010 which includes permanent expansions of the Child Tax Credit and the EITC for married couples that were included in the 2009 Recovery Act. This comprehensive bill will also extend the Bush era tax cuts for all workers on their first $200,000 of income ($250,000 for married couples).
It's now time for the Senate to act. The Senate needs to hear that working families in their states cannot afford to lose substantial income supports. Failure to act on these credits is no longer an option. Making permanent the expansions of the CTC, EITC and educational support of the American Opportunity Tax Credit are necessary to continue to stabilize our nation’s financial security now and for future generations.
