PaperlessPLUS Premier Pilot - - Tax Campaigns/Organizations Wanted

The National Community Tax Coalition, in partnership with CCH, Small Firm Services (TaxWise) is seeking approximately 10 community tax preparation programs to pilot the PaperlessPLUS Premier Initiative during the upcoming tax season. The main goal is to increase accuracy of the tax preparation using auto fill capabilities by scanning income documents.

The PaperlessPLUS Premier Initiative will ultimately:

  • Improve the accuracy of the return
  • Improve the security of client documents
  • Increase tax preparation efficiency
  • Decrease the number of key strokes
  • Decrease client wait time, resulting in an opportunity to serve more clients

What is PaperlessPLUS: Scanning of Income Documents?

  • W2s, 1099-DIVs, 1099INTs, 1099MISC, 1099R
  • The scanning of these income documents will then populate the tax return

Pilot Plan

  • Secure up to 10 early adopters or leaders from the NCTC network.
  • TaxWise will provide free copies of PaperlessPLUS Premier for this pilot. (Sites will be responsible for paying for the PaperlessPLUS Premier software in subsequent years).
  • CCH, Small Firm Services (TaxWise) staff will train staff on the workflow and usage of PaperlessPLUS Premier.
  • Tax Programs will be responsible to secure their own scanners for use with the product.  Tax campaigns/organizations will need to have a scanner at each tax site selected to participate in the pilot. The preliminary list of tested scanners that work with the software is listed in the PaperlessPLUS Premier Pilot FAQs.
  • Tax programs are expected to provide feedback and lessons learned through the use of surveys and conference calls.
  • CCH, Small Firm Services (TaxWise) will provide a written report of the lessons learned and future steps for subsequent tax seasons.
  • CCH, Small Firm Services (TaxWise) agrees to participate in a national web seminar to share pilot lessons with the field.

Locations of Interest

We are seeking a diverse group of organizations to participate in this pilot. That being the case, we are also interested in some specific geographic locations including California, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Texas.

Training

  • Most trainings will be provided through Web Seminars
  • When possible in-person group trainings may be available
  • Trainings will begin the week of November 7, 2011
